Meet Judy

Aloha!

I am Judith A. Schevtchuk (“Judy”) and I joined PKA in 2020 after practicing law in Hawaii since 1989. My family law practice emphasizes problem-solving during difficult life transitions which I have experienced both professionally and personally. I am the mother of two now adult daughters, divorced, and a US Navy veteran. My mother and my paternal grandparents were all immigrants to the United States. I have been blessed to make Hawaii my home and found my passion in family law. My focus in my life and my practice continues to be “What is best for the children?”

I was born in Indiana and raised in a multi-generational home. I worked my way through college and law school at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. I received both my BA in Political Science and my law degree there in six years. I have diverse experiences in law firms, state government, and solo law practice in Hawaii. I was a Deputy Prosecutor in Honolulu and Indianapolis, a Special Agent with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service in California and Washington, DC, and served on active duty with the Navy in Washington, DC, and with the US Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton, California as a Navy Judge Advocate. I retired from the Naval Reserve as a Commander after twenty years of combined active and reserve service in the US Navy. My professional resume is HERE.

I have specialized in family law since 1992. I strive to combine my investigative skills, compassion, energy and years of experience as a trial attorney in the Family Court with my personal experiences raising children and caring for elderly relatives here in Honolulu.

I humbly offer to help your family find common, economical, and practical resolutions to your family law dilemmas in a pono, private, and prompt way.
